There's a lot that goes into a professional author site that you'd never see if you weren't looking. Here's what's under the hood on every build.
Every page gets proper meta tags, Open Graph images for social sharing, canonical URLs, and a sitemap — so you're discoverable the day you launch, not six months later after Google finally decides to crawl you.
The more you bring to the table, the faster we can build. Here's the checklist we send every new client.
That's okay — most authors don't. Reach out anyway and we'll figure out what you have, what you need, and what we can work around. A missing bio or second cover won't hold up your whole project.
Hosting is always free. The only ongoing cost is your domain name — here's what to expect.
| .com (e.g., authorjanesmith.com) | ~$12–15 / year |
| .net or .org | ~$13–16 / year |
| .ink (e.g., janesmith.ink) | ~$35–40 / year |
| .author or .books | ~$20–30 / year |
| Cloudflare Pages hosting | Free — always |
| SSL certificate (HTTPS) | Free — always |
Domains are purchased through Cloudflare, Namecheap, or your registrar of choice. Prices above are estimates and may vary. Your domain renews annually — I'll remind you before it's due.
No problem. Every site gets a free Cloudflare Pages URL (e.g., yourname.pages.dev) that works perfectly while you decide. You can connect a custom domain any time later — it's a 5-minute change.
Timeline varies by project and is discussed during your initial conversation. Gathering your photos, covers, and bio is usually the longest part — once we have everything, the build itself moves quickly. Rush builds are available for a $75 fee.
Not a thing. You focus on the content — your bio, your books, what you want your readers to feel. Everything technical (code, deployment, SEO setup, domain connection) is handled for you. When you receive your files, they're ready to go.
Every build includes one revision round before launch. After you're live, updates are flat-rate: $20 for a new book, $25 for minor edits, $100 for a full refresh. No retainer required — just reach out when you need something.
Yes — you receive all your site files and you own them completely. If you're comfortable with HTML, you can edit anything you want. If that's not your thing, flat-rate updates are always available. And if you connect your site to InkHub, new books update automatically — no request needed at all.
InkHub is a publishing command center built specifically for indie authors — it handles your book bible, launch checklists, ARC team, and more. When your site is connected to InkHub, any book you add or update there appears on your website automatically. No email, no wait, no $10 fee. The InkHub subscription starts at $7.50/month, which pays for itself after the first book update.
Perfect timing, actually. A site built around your first book establishes your brand before readers even arrive — and it grows with you. We've built sites for debut authors and multi-book veterans alike. The design scales with your catalog.
Primarily yes — the portfolio focuses on the publishing world (authors, editors, writing services). That specialization means every site has the features authors actually need, without paying for things you don't. Editors, writing coaches, and book-adjacent services are absolutely welcome.
Payment is split 50/50: half upfront to reserve your spot, the remaining half before your files are delivered. Payment via PayPal, Venmo, or CashApp. No work begins until the deposit is received.
